What is the difference between different types of Rogers foam in the application of new energy vehicles?

The application differences of different models of Rogers foam in new energy vehicles are as follows:

PORON series

PORON SoftSeal™ 4701-15 series: with high compression ratio, it is suitable for some parts of new energy vehicles with compact space and large compression deformation, such as the narrow installation space of some electronic components, and can be used as cushioning and sealing materials, which can provide good sealing and shock absorption effects in a limited space.

PORON AquaPro™ 4701-37 and 4701-41 series: The main advantage lies in excellent waterproof and sealing performance, which can be used in battery packs, motor cabins and other parts of new energy vehicles with high waterproof requirements, effectively preventing the invasion of water and moisture and ensuring the safe operation of equipment.

PORON 4701-50 series: It is suitable for gaskets or places where high impact energy needs to be absorbed, such as shock-absorbing gaskets at the joint between automobile suspension system and car body, which can effectively absorb large impact energy from road surface and protect vehicle parts.

PORON ShockSeal™ 4790-79 series: It can effectively protect sensitive devices such as batteries, screens, components, etc. It is often used between battery modules or between batteries and battery pack housings in new energy vehicles, playing a buffering and protecting role and preventing batteries from being damaged due to vibration during driving.

PORON 4790-92 series: It has excellent cushioning, sound absorption, shockproof, sealing and flame retardant properties, and can be used for cushioning and sealing battery packs, motors and other parts of new energy vehicles, and can also be used for sound insulation and noise reduction in vehicles, such as doors and windows, to improve the comfort and safety of vehicles.

BISCO series

BISCO® HT-800: It is a porous silicone foam with medium hardness, which has excellent compression deformation resistance, stable resilience and stress relaxation resistance. The waterproof grade reaches IP6K/9K and the flame retardant grade reaches UL94-V0. It is mainly used for sealing the battery pack shell of new energy vehicles, which can maintain good sealing performance for a long time and effectively block the invasion and overflow of liquid.

Other series

BF-2000 and BF-1000 series: At present, there is no specific exclusive application in new energy vehicles, but according to their characteristics of preventing looseness and impact noise, it is speculated that they may be used for fixing and damping the interior parts of automobiles and reducing the abnormal sound of the interior parts during driving.

HT-870, HT-820, HT-840 series: They have excellent sealing performance and compression deformation resistance, and may be used in parts of new energy vehicles that need good sealing and shock resistance, such as partial sealing of battery packs and sealing of motor outlets.
